CLUB NEWS: Hethersett stage Presentation Evening

HETHERSETT HAWKS / YELLOW BRICK MORTGAGES staged their Presentation Evening at Hethersett Social Club with over 50 members and families attending. emphasising the expansion of the Club this season, particularly at Under-10 level.

Various successes of the 2019 season were celebrated as individual achievements at Club, local, regional, national and in Poland, notably Charlie Lyth’s third place in the British Under-16s.

The Club made a number of awards for the season and the most prestigious of these were the Sporsperson of the Year and a new award – Young Sporsperson of the Year for under-13s. These are voted for by their peers so the winners – Nigel Longlands and Jamie Baggaley – can feel especially proud.

Long-serving rider Leigh Cossey picked up two awards – Top Scorer and the Coach’s award. The other awards went to Lola Martin (Best Newcomer), Mackenzie Loombe (Most Improved Junior), Lucy Leonard (Club Member of the Year), Henry Adderson (Hawk of the Future), Glyn Morgan (1st team Rider of the Year) and George Larter-Dixon (B Team Rider of the Year).

A special round of applause was given to Jenny Melvin who took on the role of Secretary and has taken the Club forward in a number of areas with tireless effort and recently received a nomination for a British Cycling Easter Region Volunteer award.

Looking forward the Club has entered an experienced team to the British Indoor Team Championships in Coventry early in January.
