CLUB NEWS: busy weekend for the Stars

Norwich Stars riders were in action over the weekend at Kesgrave & Spixworth. Saturday’s action saw 7 riders at Kesgrave for the opening BYJL South-East regional round which also doubled up as the opening South-East Grand Prix round with the following results:

Under 8’s: Luke Sutherland finished 3rd in the B Final
Under 10’s: Connor Jarrett finished 4th in the A Final after taking a tumble on the final lap whilst attempting a pass on eventual winner Demi-Blu Harris (Kesgrave). Frank Spauls also rode, finishing 2nd in the B Final
Under 12’s: Will Blackmore finished 2nd in the B Final
Under 14’s: Shaun Kell finished 3rd in the A Final
Under 18’s: Tom Blackmore 2nd in A Final
Senior: Jamie Medler won the B Final

The opening round of the Eurovets took place at Spixworth on Saturday with Grand Veterans World Champion Paddy Wenn representing Norwich where he scored 16 points in the Over 50/Over 60 qualifying section before taking 3rd place in the Over 50’s A Final

Spixworth was also the venue for Sunday’s action which featured the 2nd round of the Norfolk League. The Youth match opened the proceedings and was contested by the young Stars and Hethersett. It was a close match all the way through which went to a last heat decider with Shaun Kell and Connor Jarrett scoring a 6-4 in the final race to seal the win

The Senior match followed between Norwich, Hethersett & Spixworth and it was the host club who made it 2 wins out of 2 scoring 105 points ahead of Hethersett on 86 and Norwich on 75. Ipswich rider Fraser Harris, guesting for Norwich, was the Stars top scorer with 20 points with Jamie Medler scoring 17 and Tom Blackmore 14
