PREVIEW: Brotish Indoor Championships Day 1

The 2023 British Indoor Championships at Sports Connexion, Ryton On Dunsmore, get underway later today (Saturday 13th January) with a pre-qualifying round for the Under 16’s at 9.30am where Leon Penketh, Logan Bennett, James Randall, Sam Stansfield, Charlotte Geach, Luca Woodhouse, Nataleigh Goulden, Finley Myall, Kenzie Bennett, Harvey Yard, Oliver Saunders, JJ Wildman, Charlie Spurgeon, Ryker Jolly, Jake Geach, Jude Wilcockson, Lily Parr and Charlie Parr will compete for the 16 places in the final

The Under 14’s pre-qualifier follows at 10.30am and will see Oscar Hammond, Riley Jarvis, Millie Shear, Charlie Spurgeon, Luca Woodhouse, Theo Case, Caiden Rawlings, Dylan Geer, James Randall, Amelia Dodson, Jude Wilcockson, Isaac Powling, Oscar Myall, Connor Jarrett, Demi-Blu Harris, Lily Parr, Oliver Banyard, Jake Geach and Lola Martin competing for the 16 places in the final

The first champion will be crowned in the Junior Final at 11.30am which will be contested by (not in riding order) Ryker Jolly, Leon Penketh, Finley Myall, Shannon Tucker, Charlie Parr, Oliver Saunders, Kenzie Bennett, Nataleigh Goulden, Torsten Jolly, JJ Wildman, Sam Stansfield, Feroze Langoo, Kayden Davidson, Harvey Yard, Noah Woodhouse and Owen Geach

The first of the Open Team semi-finals follows at 12.45pm and will see 3 previous winners Great Blakenham, Horspath and Poole take part along with Exeter. The 2nd semi-final follows at 1.45pm and will also contain 3 previous winners, the defending champions Ipswich, Leicester and Birmingham. Fife nd Kesgrave are also in this match.

The next Individual championship to be decided will be the Under 16’s which gets underway at 2.45pm and will be followed at 4pm by the Under 14’s Individual Final

The British Junior Indoor Team Championship will be staged for the first time since 2016 (start time 5.15pm) and will be contested by kesgrave, Exeter and Poole

The 1st day will conclude with the Open Team Final at 6.30pm featuring the top 2 teams from each of the semi-finals
