AUSTRALIA: DJ and Joel on top at Findon
The Allan Staunton 20 inch Invitational was held at Findon and was won by DJ Thompson (LeFevre) on a maximum score.
Minor placings were: 2nd: Matty Snowden (Salisbury), 3rd: Holly Greenhalgh (Salisbury) and Bailey Swansson (Findon). The event honours Allan Staunton who is the President of Findon and is also the Track Manager and Maintenance all rounder. Allan has been in the club for nearly 30 years, after his son Craig originally joined the now defunct Findon BMX. The BMX track ran around the outside perimeter fence and was bulldozed after about 3 years.
The Mick Harley 26 inch Invitational was run on the 12 man formula with a sudden death final. Joel Chadwick (Salisbury) went through undefeated with Shane Weinert (Salisbury) in 2nd place Rob Sellick (LeFevre) 3rd and Angus Freeman (Findon) 4th. This event honours Mick Harley who founded the Findon club in 1958.
