NEWS: Frankie and Benny’s dish up Aussie welcome to city
One of Coventry’s leading eateries, Frankie and Benny’s, are to dish-up a royal welcome to the city by entertaining the Australia team and touring party to dinner at their plush Tile Hill restaurant.
The company will be hosting a meal for the expected 50 strong Australian squad at 1pm on the day of the historic third Test match at Hearsall Common on Thursday 6th August. A speech of ‘welcome to Coventry’ will be made by top Coventry club official Andy Drewett.
It’s part of the Coventry clubs desire to roll out the red carpet to their international guests. Andy Drewett said, “It will be a pleasure to meet our Australian friends informally, before the action hots up later in the day on the track, where relations may not be so convivial. We thank Frankie and Benny’s, Tile Hill, for their very generous hospitality”.
Roy Eaves, general manager of Frankie and Benny’s, said: “We trade near the Coventry Cycle Speedway track and it’s very clear the club does much excellent work in promoting sport and to providing energetic and healthy activities for scores of Coventry youngsters. We are delighted to support the club on the occasion of their biggest ever match”.
