MATCH REPORT: Manchester League Individual Finals

Bury staged the first of the Manchester League individual Finals evenings on Wednesday. Riders enjoyed racing on a well prepared track on a warm and pleasant summer’s evening.

Astley & Tyldesley’s youngsters dominated the u-10 Individual Finals, taking the top five places, as they did in the Grand Prix series. Defending champion Joe Quarmby and John White both won their opening four races, before meeting in the decisive last race. They were joined by Jack Murray, who had dropped just one point to Charlie Burgess in his opening ride.

John made the most of his grid 1 to race away and complete his maximum to take the title, with Joe gating round Jack from grid 4, to finish second in the race and overall. Jack’s third place meant that he finished with 17 points, one point behind Charlie, who finished in 3rd place overall.
