CLUB NEWS: Edinburgh Falcons AGM update
After the past few months of uncertainty, the Edinburgh Falcons Club is still up and running. The Club premises were host to a delayed AGM on Saturday 26th March, with the possibility of the Falcons Riders coming to the tapes at a Scottish & Tyneside 4TT at Fife the next day.
The biggest “bombshell” from the meeting was the departure of Team Manager and Convenor, Stevie Gilroy. After a successful 15 year tenure, Stevie has decided to call an end and spend more time with his young family, although he won’t be too far away from Redbraes Park on match days.
The AGM was still in a positive and upbeat mood as Stevie conducted the meeting in a thorough manner with remaining Chairman/Treasurer, Ian McKinlay. Media is still being overseen by George Swanson, with additional help from, Jake Slight. Calum Slight remains as Riders Representative. Iain MacDonald and new Rider, Alex Mathews are Child Protection Officers. Neil McPherson, Jake and Calum Slight remain as track curators. Alan Hewitson comes in as Club Secretary replacing Craig Newsome, 2007 being his last official capacity within the Club. No Social-Convenor position was taken, so Stevie Gilroy’s Wild Party and Presentation Nights won’t be happening, but importantly, the Edinburgh Falcons will be taking to the track this season.
All remaining business from the meeting consisted of Riders membership fees, Premise fees and how the Club aims to progress through 2022.
Edinburgh Falcons Cycle Speedway Club/CSC Facebook and Twitter are still active.
