PREVIEW: Robins welcome Poole for tough challenge

Swindon Robins welcome Poole to the Oasis Leisure Centre this weekend, and it is sure to be a tough test for last year’s South and South Wales finalists.

The Dorset side will be bringing with them top Poles, Greg Gluchowski and Maciej Ganczarek, along with their solid base of young home grown talent in Dean Hook, Hayden Chant, Arron Morgan, Aaron Smith and Ben Donahue.

The Robins are without new signings, Marcus Wadhams and Shaun Rudman due to work commitments, but welcome British Champion Zac Payne to give them a boost against the robust Poole side.

New team manager, Jim Bailey includes top vet Steve Harris and Jake Neighbour (both pictured), the latter is certainly “one to watch” with Horspath in the Elite League this season and could turn out to be one of the signings of the winter. Rob Hunt, the returning Neil Power, Andrew Yard, Paul Matthews and Martin Glover make up the rest of the squad.

Boss Bailey commented: “It will be a hard fought match, but we need to hit the ground running and follow on from last season’s successful campaign. Poole will provide the perfect test to begin our season.”
