MATCH REPORT: A&T in cruise control
Astley & Tyldesley made it a clean sweep of three wins in Sunday’s Northern League fixture against Hull, at Gin Pit.
A cagey opening four races saw A&T hold a 20-18 lead in the Division 1 match. Two maximum race wins followed, as A&T took control of the match and they rounded off with six successive heat wins to record an emphatic 89-57 win.
Max Evans rode to his first ever 20 points maximum score in a 1st team match. Reece Pollitt also raced unbeaten, Paul Graham lost just once, with solid scores from the rest of the team.
Nathan Everett, David Cooper and Josh Bellis all won a race apiece for the visitors.

Hull fielded an ineligible rider in the Division 2 match, so despite Hull winning 81-68 on the track, the 20 penalty points incurred meant that A&T ran out 88-81 winners.
Max Evans again raced to a 20 points maximum, with good scores from Mark Grantham and Ciaran Collins. Josh Bellis top scored for a solid scoring Hull team, losing only to Evans and Collins. John White pulled out after injurying a leg in his first race. A&T remain in 2nd place in the Division 2 table.

Hull didn’t field any riders in the Division 3 match, so A&T rode to a whitewash 116-0 win, to remain top of the table. Emily Burgess raced unbeaten, with Danny Pickup losing just once and Nathan Holt twice.
