OBITUARY: Bill Phillips

33/18 News has learnt that Astley & Tyldesley Cycling Club President Bill Phillips passed away over the weekend. Bill had been an A&T club member since 1995, and served as Club Chairman from 1998 to 2003, and again from 2008 to 2019, before becoming Club President.

In addition, he held official roles at the now defunct Stockport and Garstang clubs, between 1985 and 1994, as well as serving on the Manchester League Committee. Bill also fulfilled the roles of Track Manager and Referee at A&T.

Everyone in the Cycle Speedway community as well as those at 33/18 News send their sincerest condolences to Bill’s family and friends, especially to son Lee and grandson Adam. RIP Bill.
