PREVIEW: British Championships
Preview sent in by Mike Hack
There are less than seven days to go to the premier weekend of racing on the Cycle Speedway domestic calendar! Saturday and Sunday sees Open qualifiers and age category championships taking place at Sheffield and Hull.
The action switches to Astley & Tyldesley on Bank Holiday Monday 28th August, where four Finals will be staged, from 10 am, culminating in the climax to the weekend, the Open Final at 4 pm.
There will be 80 scheduled races, plus any run-offs, contested by 64 of Britain’s top cycle speedway racers, on the Monday. Come along to the Gin Pit Raceway, and enjoy Astley & Tyldesley’s excellent facilities at the North’s Regional Cycle Speedway Centre. Cycle Speedway is a sport where spectators can watch all the action, close up, and not miss seeing anything. Admission and car parking are free, with spectator seating, catering, bar and toilet facilities available.
The A&T Club (Team Green) are launching their new Green initiatives on the day. Compostable food trays are replacing the non recyclable polystyrene food trays, recycling wheeled bins have been purchased by the club, and customers who bring their own reusable cups and mugs will be able to purchase hot drinks at discounted rates. Team Green goes Green!
It promises to be a terrific day of cycle racing at its very best, so come to Gin Pit and see every piece of Cycle Speedway action!
A full day by day preview of the 2023 British Championships will be published later this week
