HETHERSETT HAWKS / YELLOW BRICK MORTGAGES CYCLE SPEEDWAY CLUB is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee in 2026, 60 years since the track was constructed on the Memorial Playing Field.

A full-day of events is planned at the track on Saturday July 18th to mark the Jubilee and the Club would love to welcome former members to attend and take part in the celebrations.

Events start at 10 a.m. with a round of the South-East Grand Prix series with riders coming from across the region in age categories from Under-8 to Over-40s.

At 2 p.m. a round of the “Eurovets” series will see riders from all over the country competing at Over-40, Over-50 and Over-60 levels.

Throughout the day there will be opportunities for ex-members to demonstrate their former skills in ad hoc activities with some challenges for prizes.

Also there will be an opportunity to place an order for a special “History of the Hawks” book, being put together by founder Mel Perkins and local scribe Peter Steward, due for publication in the autumn.
