The curtain came down on a difficult season for East London with two comprehensive defeats against Suffolk-based Kesgrave, but the day was not without its positives. The Coventry managements decision to leave out their top riders certainly added to the entertainment value of the East midlands clash. As usual in these derby matches the racing was fierce, however the racing and banter, was all in great spirit and both sides deserve great credit for putting on an exciting match.

The updated averages are in for the 2014 Elite League season. Paul Heard of Wednesfield topped the lot with an average of 3.46 from 7 matches. Poole’s Greg Gluchowski is second with 3.41 from 9 and Ipswich’s Josh Brooke third with 3.40, also from 9 matches.
