MATCH REPORT: Swindon topple resilient Southampton

Swindon Cycle Speedway Club took victory away to resilient Southampton team, using their knowledge of the rule book well to utilise their six riders to keep the defeat to a mere 5 points.

Swindon were short themselves but we’re able to field a full team, of which Jamie Brown and Martin Glover stepped up to the plate to contribute valuable points over the course of the match.

For Southampton, Gavin Wheeler showed he is still a class act to drop only a point all day, being supported well by Nathan Harris who seemed to be able to create overtakes and heat advantages from unlikely positions.

Southampton ended with a 7-3 to make the final score 93 – 88.

Swindon entertain Horspath in 2 weeks time at the Oasis Leisure Centre to try to maintain themselves in a playoff position at the end of the season.
