AUSTRALIA: Jets win Interclub No.1

Interclub No.1 for 2016 was held at LeFevre last Saturday.

It is always a great event as there are two riders from each of the three suburban clubs on the start line, changing grid positions in each of the three rounds of heats.

Round 1 saw LeFevre Dolphins on grids 1 and 4, Findon Comets on 2 and 5 and Salisbury Jets on 3 and 6.

Round 2 was Jets on 1 and 4, Dolphins on 2 and 5 with Comets on 3 and 6. Round 3 it was Comets on 1 and 4, Jets on 2 and 5 and Dolphins on 3 and 6.

Racing is for all grades from Divisions 1-7 and veterans with scoring; 6,5,4,3,2,1. It certainly makes it different and interesting.

The Division 7 (under 7s) race first, so if it’s a very tight finish, the Division 1 riders get the blame for losing as everyone has forgotten how the youngsters went!

In today’s Interclub, the Jets were a little too strong on the day winning by 17 points from Comets, and the Dolphins were in third, just 17 points behind the Comets.

It is always a very good close competition with plenty of action (and a few spills).
