BATTLE OF BRITAIN: Cookson Park the venue for N&S v Midlands

Sheffield host this Sunday’s Supertrax Battle of Britain Round 2 at Cookson Park, off Halliwell Crescent, S5 8LY.

The Stars’ Graves track, which traditionally hosted big meetings like previous Elite League matches, was taken out of action in 2015 due to building work at the neighbouring sports centre.

The Graves is still intact but not quite ready to host elite racing, so the super fast Cookson circuit, where Sheffield Stars rode their final Elite League season, will be the setting for this weekend’s North & Scotland v Midlands showdown and will no doubt deliver some excellent racing.

Sheffield have been proactive in their obligations to promote their round of the exciting Battle of Britain competition. The South Yorkshire club have produced posters and flyers to hand out at the motor speedway, as well as promoting on social media. Here’s their poster:

Horspath are the hosts for the South West and Wales v South East and East. The home side will hope to put behind a bad opening day of the campaign at Astley & Tylesley in the Elite Men category, while the South East and East will want to make it two out of two, after defeating the Midlands last time out.
