MATCH REPORT: Hawks make sure of playoff place at Kesgrave

Hethersett Hawks / Myhill Decorators were at Kesgrave on Sunday for key South East & Eastern League matches.

The first team made 100% sure of a playoff place win a narrow win spearheaded by Leigh Cossey and Dan Chambers with Liam Webster making a valuable debut at substitute.

The Division 2 match was even more critical with the Hawks needing to win to keep their title chances alive.

It was an even closer contest with the young Kesgrave side proving fitter to defeat Hethersett by just two points.

The inclusion of Webster boosted their chances but it was not quite enough. So it is looking like Ipswich’s title with the Hawks needing two wins in remaining matches to seal runners-up place.

Owen Wells and Glyn Morgan finished second in their categories at the South-East Grand Prix at East London on Saturday.
