NEWS: British Cycling issue membership evidence warning to clubs and riders
British Cycling sent an email to all clubs this morning, informing them that all riders must strictly surrender their British Cycling membership cards, as evidence of their membership on match days. Clubs will no longer be able to be issued a list of club members on request.
The e-mail from British Cycling administrator, Paul West said, “It’s been over a year now for CS riders and clubs to get used to the process of showing evidence of their British Cycling Membership by the surrender of their British Cycling Membership Card prior to the start of matches. By now therefore all riders and clubs should be adhering to the requirement to present BC Membership cards on the day as their evidence of BC membership.
The practice of issuing lists on request of club members for this purpose is not done for any other Cycling Discipline and will no longer be done for Cycle Speedway Clubs. Each BC CS Club Contact already receives a full list of current BC Members every time he/she receives a fresh licence. This contact and others as nominated by him/her can also access current lists of those members currently affiliated to British Cycling by going into their personal dashboard and click on the club manager tab on the left side of the home page.
Any rider who signs on for any BC Registered event without the appropriate be membership/competition licence is required should be buying a day licence.
Current turnaround of BC Membership issue from order to sending is currently less than a week.”
