With the power of social media, in recent years we’ve had access to more Cycle Speedway action than ever before. This post is a small tribute to the people who are always at the track with their camera and some of their best action shots shared on the internet. It’s largely inspired by Sue Tydd’s incredible photo of Mick Parr stacking it in the Northern 4s yesterday, which is currently being spoken of as being the best crash shot ever! Here are a selection of recent shots by some of the sport’s most regular camera men and women.Â
Photographed by Sue Tydd – The best crash shot ever?
Another great shot by Sue from this season
Photographed by Ray Andrews – The start of a fast sequence of images
…which saw Myke Grimes and Craig Marchant come to grief
…with some fantastic synchronised crashing
Brian Barnett regularly sends in some shots, like this animated GIF of last weekend’s South East league action
Another one of Brian’s, before the dust settles…
Mark Phillips is always flashing his camera around, he caught this great action shot of the Elite League clash between Newport and Sheffield
Another Mark Phillips shot, just lovely.
George Swanson has a penchant for catching riders going up in the air, here is Dougie Morgan going flying…
And even champions can stack it too! Here’s Damian Zareba going over the handlebars, this sequence again taken by George Swanson
A quality set of snaps taken by Northumbria’s Cechu of some serious first bend bunching!
John Burge also takes some really good high quality images
Another one of John’s from the weekend just past
So, many thanks to our friends with cameras, it really is appreciated what you do. If there are any other shots or photographers that you think should be recognised, pleased email us some pics at: 3318news@gmail.com
Watch this space for our 2014 Photo of the Year at the end of the season…
