NEWS: Spixworth stages its first match for 5 years
Fourteen riders braved the evening rain to re-launch the Spixworth track which staged its first competitive match for five years. Riders raced in Under-9, Under-14, Under-16 and Senior categories and it was a credit to the work of Craig Norton and Ben Loombe, supported by both Norfolk Clubs, in getting the track in a racing condition since they took over as Trustees of the track with the Parish Council in the winter. There is still lots to do to prepare the surroundings before the next scheduled event on Sunday July 21st. On this day the track will stage the East Anglian Championships for all ages and the track has been specifically selected to help celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the East Anglian Association. Spixworth was one of the the five clubs who formed the East Anglian League in 1969 along with Galley, Hethersett, Kesgrave and Marsham. Further local events will be scheduled for the track later in the summer.
