DRAWS: British Club Championships plus updates from British Cycling

The draws for the British Club Championships are in and are listed below. Unfortunately, the U16 Girls Club Championship has had to be cancelled due to lack of entries. As such, U16 girls are eligible to compete in the now mixed U16 Club Championship. A reminder that the riders will not need to be confirmed until sign-on, after which riders cannot switch between A/B/C teams for the duration of the event. All riders participating must hold a minimum of Bronze Race membership (for Individual National Championships later in the year, a minimum of Silver Race membership is required). This can be purchased or renewed online – if you have any issues with the online process the British Cycling membership team can be contacted on 01612742010.

For the Saturday event, time constraints mean that British Cycling will not be able to accept late entries for any categories. For the Sunday, there is space in the program to accept late entries up to seven teams in each category (including Vets semi-finals). If your club would like to enter an additional team in either the U16, Women’s or Vets Club Championships, please contact Tarn Fynn at British Cycling directly.

Event Registrations

The following reminder was sent out in early May regarding the registration process of events. This is the responsibility of the hosting club. Please register your events as much in advance as possible, particularly if choosing to use the BC online entry system. There are additional Covid measures in place, in particular a Covid Risk Assessment must be submitted to the event at least 7 days in advance, so British Cycling cannot approve events within this deadline. If any events are cancelled or postponed, please let me know via email so you do not receive levy payment emails.

The Way Forward guidance for running events under the current circumstances can be found here:

There will be some mitigations necessary for events throughout the summer, such as social distancing except when racing, good hygiene measures etc.

Event organisation manuals have been developed to cover all aspects of event organisation within each discipline, on page 73 you will find the process for registering events using the Event Management System (EMS). These also include links to up to date levy forms, incident report forms etc. We will soon be doing an audit of the resources available via the event organiser dashboard as we know there is out of date information on there, however if in any doubt please use the links available in through the organisation manual.

Event organisers will need an active Bronze membership – if you already have the role and need to renew your membership you can do so online, just tick the appropriate volunteer role before the checkout. If you have event registration fees outstanding from cancelled events in 2020, these can be rolled over. Please set up the events as per the manual, but do not submit them at the last step. Instead, get in touch with me directly and I will make the events live.

If you have queries about Go-ride events, the team can be contacting via go-ride@britishcycling.org.uk.
