MATCH REPORT: Yorkshire League Round 3

Hull Cycle Speedway

Hull smashed the points scoring record in round three of the Yorkshire League, and are now firm favourites to win the league title for a third successive season.
Hull were at full strength for this round at the Hessle raceway and made their intent clear in heat one as Nathan Everett and David Cooper both sped past Sheffield’s Kielan Burton.
Hull went on to record the maximum 7 point score in seven of the eight pairs races. Their only slip came in heat 6 when the quick starting Patrick Beacock defended Nathan Everett for enough time to allow Dan Green to get second place. Hull were relentless, winning the final four individual races for a final points total of 71, just one short of the maximum possible.
Sheffield and Heckmondwike were left to battle for second place, the Stars edging out the improving Saints by 45-40.
