MATCH REPORT: Newport open season with a bang

Newport (Copart) Cycle Speedway team started the new season with a bang beating a spirited Poole Comets team 99 to 86 at Newport International Sports Village.

The home team got off to a great start with Chris Davies lowering the colours of returning Polish flyer Greg Gluchowski in heat 3,2 wins each for Ben Mould and suprise package Stuart Marsh helped Newport to a 7point interval lead. Kenzie Bennett and Feroze Langoo were keeping the Dorset team in contention, but they lacked support, whereas Newport were very strong 1 to 8.

Newport’s Development team defeated Poole 85 to 64 with Harry Marsh and Jayden Jenkins dropping just a point each to an opponent.
