NEWS: Coventry prepare for Euro debut

Coventry Devlins Newsagents Cycle Speedway are preparing to take on their biggest on-track challenge ever since the club reformed in 2011 as they take part in the 2014 European Club Championships at Exeter this weekend.

Four of Coventry’s youngsters – Daniel Drewett, Kyle Roberts, Mason Phillips and Josh Marsh will be in action as the Godiva City club represent Coventry in an international competition. Coventry shall face Polish sides Czestochowa and Ostrow, together with Wolverhampton`s Wednesfield Aces, in their first qualifying round.

All of Coventry’s representatives live in the Coventry post code area, with most only joining the club in recent years for what has blossomed to be one of the cities greatest sporting revivals.

Both Daniel Drewett and Josh Marsh only took up the sport in 2012 whilst both Kyle Roberts and Mason Phillips have been racing for Coventry, on a first team licence, for a matter of months. Veteran Joe McLaughlin travels as reserve.
