LEAGUE TABLE: Ipswich top the table as the Club Championships are concluded

Last weekend’s Under 19s Championship completed the 2014 British Club Championship. Ipswich’s win retained the overall title for the third successive year.

Ipswich were the only team this year to enter all seven categories, with first-time riders in the Under 10s, 13s, 16s, Women and Veterans teams. Along with Ipswich’s success, it’s also been a good season all round for the Suffolk based clubs, with Kesgrave finishing a creditable fourth, along with the Suffolk teams also finishing in the top three in six of the seven age categories. Ipswich and Kesgrave have flown the flag for the South East region picking up three Championships between them, two for the Midlands and one going to the South West &Wales. Sheffield will count themselves a little unlucky with the club making five grand finals but weren’t able to finish in the top two with two thirds and three fourths.

This years competition also saw five clubs successfully defend their crowns; Ipswich U19s, Exeter U13s, Kesgrave U10s , Wednesfield in the Open event and Leicester, making it nine out of nine in the Women’s category. There was also a first National title for East Park in the U16’s, while Kesgrave clinched the Veterans title for the first time.
