NEWS: A&T snap up former European Champion Zareba

Astley & Tyldesley are delighted to announce their third signing of the winter. Former European Cycle Speedway Champion Damian Zareba has signed for Astley & Tyldesley on a full transfer after one season of racing for the Sheffield Stars.

The 31 year old Bydgoszcz born racer will line up with his Polish compatriot Radek Handke, in what will be a very strong spearhead for A&T in Northern League and Manchester League matches. Tyldesley based Zareba rode for A&T in 2005, before joining Bury and then taking a break from the sport, before returning and joining Sheffield. A&T team manager Paul Graham is delighted to secure such quality riders, as A&T look to make a serious challenge for the Northern League Division 1 title in 2015.

Both Zareba and Handke will race in the Elite League for Sheffield as well, but both are first claim riders for Astley & Tyldesley.

There will be a meeting of the A&T Club Committee on Monday evening (12th January), starting at 7 pm, in the Miners’ Welfare Club.
