MATCH REPORT: Aces down the Eagles

The Ipswich Eagles turned up at the Wednesfield Aces Ashmore Park raceway today with a team missing a few of their top named riders but this did not stop Ipswich putting on a determined display.

The Aces also put on a professional display with 6 maximum 7-3 heat win in the first 9 races with Ipswich claiming the inside grids as early as heat 4. At half time the Aces were comfortably 58 – 31 up.

The second half of the meeting was much the same with Wednesfield taking another 5 heat wins at 7-3 with a couple of 6-4s and one drawn heat. Ashmore Park is beginning to be like a fortress for the Aces this elite season so far. The Aces, also for the second elite match of the season, utilised Brandon Whetton and Lee Kemp at the number 9 and 10 berths to good effect.

It was much the same in the combination fixture with the Aces dominating the match and that was with Ipswich using 4 first team riders, giving away 31 penalty points added onto the already impressive Aces score at the end of the match.
