MATCH REPORT: Edinburgh clinch NL2 title in Glasgow

Edinburgh wrapped up the league title with a hard fought victory at a warm and sunny Glasgow this afternoon. Now that’s a couple of words that don’t usually appear in the same sentence as Glasgow! But it was sunny – honest.

The home side kept the champions elect under some pressure in the early stages and was still level at heat seven, however back to back maximums from the visitors virtually sealed the match. Edinburgh simply had too much strength in depth and were able to fill most of the minor places, taking heat advantages when available and thoroughly deserved their victory.

Glasgow never gave up but once behind never looked like being able to claw their way back. They did manage nine heat winners compared to the visitors seven, the duo of Andy MacDougall and Scotland domiciled Carl Jarvis, returning to the sport after a long absence, both remaining unbeaten.
