AUSTRALIA: Salisbury Jets win Interclub shield

Interclub round 3 ended up to be the Grand Final as it is a ‘best out of 3’ series and both Salisbury Jets and Findon Comets were on 1 win each.

The beauty of Interclub racing is that a club only needs two good riders in each grade to have a chance of winning, whereas the Leagues require more depth.

There are two riders from each club on the grid and as all riders score (6,5,4,3,2,1), you can’t afford to have exclusions, and in this round, Comets had 2, Dolphins 1 and Jets 1 dnf.

The racing was fierce in all grades, but the Jets were too strong in most grades and won the match by the unusually high margin of 39 points, giving them the win and the Interclub Shield.

The Dolphins were outstanding and finished only 2 points behind the Comets with their ‘Ace’ Jack Norman shining in Division 2 and Division 1.

In his last race he held off the ‘Master’ Joel Chadwick and if there was a trophy for Rider of the Day he surely would have won it.

Scores:

Salisbury Jets 193
Findon Comets  154
LeFevre Dolphins  152
