CLUB NEWS: Hawks struggle in play-off

HETHERSETT HAWKS / MYHILL DECORATORS contested the Regional Play-Offs of the CS Knock Out Cup at Ipswich. The “A” section found the going tough with the stars of Ipswich and Great Blakenham battling for supremacy but in the “B” section there were some excellent performances from experienced David Adams and Glyn Morgan, both of whom registered a race win, and encouraging signs from youngsters Paul Delaiche and Charlie Lyth. The match had a dramatic final heat 32 when Ipswich seemed certain to retain their title until Ashley Hill got excluded for anticipating the start leaving British Champion Josh Brooke to speed to a race win and take Blakenham through to the National Play-Off at Poole on September 23rd.
