CLUB NEWS: Mixed results for Monarchs in East Midlands

2 visits to the East Midlands this week saw conflicting results for the Monarchs. The Juniors
taking a 2 point victory in Coventry in Division 3 action whilst the opening match of our Gold Cup campaign ended with defeat in Leicester on Sunday.
The Gold Cup formula is new for this season, which sees both Senior and Junior teams points counting as one. Some costly falls and exclusions for the Birmingham seniors proved the difference in the end with the home Leicester side taking a 6 point victory. Their strength was in the juniors who comfortably outscored the visitors which helped to take overall victory.

The re-arranged junior fixture at Coventry was raced last Tuesday with only one race victory separating the teams at the end of the match , that being a 6-4 to Birmingham through Bekah Humphries and Ben Heagren. All riders took part in a one lap dash with plenty of crowd support. Both clubs are looking forward to more exciting projects in 2019.
