TRANSFER NEWS: Heard expected to return to Birmingham

Great Britain Men’s team captain Paul Heard will return to Birmingham for the 2019 season, subject to British Cycling approval. Chris Timms describes Paul as ” a great asset to the club who will help and encourage us to train harder both physically and mentally”
Paul first discovered cycle speedway when he went on a bike ride with his dad finding the track at Perry Barr. Unfortunately for Birmingham they did not have a website so Paul found Sandwell first. Paul raced for the Sandwell Lions for a couple of years before signing for his closest club. Paul found his feet fast and went on to help Birmingham win several competitions as well as his own individual titles. Paul and all the other riders are excited for the year ahead and Paul and his winning attitude (as described by Chris Timms) will help the Birmingham boys who are already off to a great start getting back to their winning ways, having been crowned the British Indoor Team Champions just recently at Sports Connexion.
