WEEKEND PREVIEW: BYJL resumes plus regional racing

A busy weekend of cycle speedway action gets underway on Saturday with the 3rd regional rounds of the British Youth & Junior League. Hull is the venue for the North & Scotland round whilst the Midlands round will be staged by Birmingham. The South East & Eastern round is at Hethersett and will also double up as the 3rd round of the South-East Grand Prix series. The South & South Wales round will be staged at Exeter.

There is racing on Sunday in all 4 regions. In the Midlands it is the 2nd round of their KO CUp competition which is being staged at Leicester with a 1pm start time.

The South-East & Eastern region sees 8 matches across all 3 leagues. Great Blakenham welcome Hethersett to the South-East Regional centre for matches in Division 2 and the Youth League whilst Kesgrave make the trip to Hellingly for 2 Youth League matches as well as a Division 2 fixture. The only Division 1 match sees Ipswich taking on Norwich at Whitton Sports Centre. These 2 teams will also race a Division 2 match and a Youth League match.

The North & Scotland League has 2 Division 1 matches taking place on Sunday and both of these will be in Scotland as Astley & Tyldesley make the trip firstly to Edinburgh at midday before moving on to Fife for a 4pm start. Hull were due to provide the opposition for Fife at midday and Edinburgh at 4pm but those matches will not take place. Hull will instead travel to Fife on Sunday July 24th with their match at Edinburgh to take place at a later date.

The South & South Wales League will see Southampton welcome Exeter to the Shirley Ponds Recreation Ground

Please enjoy your racing wherever you may be this weekend but more importantly please keep safe
