NEWS: Good news from Poole

A double helping of good news was served up to Poole club members in a busy pre-season event at Harbourside, when details were revealed of valuable financial support ahead of a mouth-watering season down on the South coast.

An improvement grant of £10,000 from Poole Borough will ensure that the facilities will be in tip top condition as plans are made for the World team and individual events in August. Work is already underway on a series of track and clubroom projects and efforts will now accelerate ahead of the 2015 season.

A further boost comes with news that a major national company will be supporting the World team events with a significant four figure sum. Final details  will be announced in a press statement in a few week’s time.

British Cycling’s Regional Manager Mark Adams hailed the efforts of club members in achieving both these pieces of good news and was on hand to make a special presentation to the club in recognition of their membership increase in 2014 which surpassed all other Clubmark clubs in the South Region.

Formalities over, action swiftly moved upstairs to the new gym which is already proving a big hit with the riding squad as the new season draws nearer.

Poole are another fine example of how being proactive can get things done and push the sport fowards, congratulations to all down in Dorset!
