MATCH REPORT: Leicester cruise past East Park

An uphill struggle for the East Park was on the cards as they had been beaten by the biggest margin of the season in Division 1  119 – 60 and in division 2 the ultimate white wash, 15 7-3’s went to Leicester making the final score 105 – 45.

The day started with a maximum win in division 3 for Leicester the youngsters romped to the ultimate score of 56 – 24, securing eight 7-3s and total domination of the fixture away from home.

The Division one match was tough for East Park with Leicester fielding a team full of experience and lead by captain Norman Venson the new over 40 national champion and three times world cycle speedway champion David Hemsley in the top 8. 

The best results for the home side came from the White brothers and the only heat wins came from Jake White. The only riders with double figures were the Whites, while Leicester scored double figures for all eight riders, with David Hemsley and Kev Burns both untroubled by any of the East Park team.

Division 2 was another fabulous win for Leicester 13 of the 15 heats were maximum heat advantages to the visitors, four Leicester riders were unbeaten Lucy Whitehead, Chloe Whitehead, Michelle Whitehead and Kasper Horvacz.  

Just for once during this match East Park fans had a reason to cheer when in heat 10 Adam Mabberley won the re run which meant a heat win and gave him 9 points and the top scorer for the wolves side.
