2016 INDOOR: Entries re-opened for British Indoor Championships

The entries for the 2016 British Indoor Cycle Speedway championships have today been re-opened by British Cycling.

The event will take place at Coventry’s Sport Connexion under British Cycling over the weekend of 7th-8th January 2017.

The British Indoor Championships were removed from the British Cycling calendar last week, following a dispute between host club Coventry and the sport’s governing body, after conditions relating to the running of the event were changed at the 11th hour.

Coventry initially indicated they would promote a separate event, but after talks between Coventry, the Cycle Speedway Commission and British Cycling this week, a satisfactory compromise was reached by all parties.

The conclusion ends weeks of uncertainty about this year’s indoor programme and the sport can finally look forward to a weekend of racing as originally planned.
