WEEKEND PREVIEW: Elite GP returns plus another busy day of regional racing

Another busy weekend of racing starts off on Saturday with the 1st round of the Elite GP series which is being staged at Exeter where Birmingham’s Chris Timms is expected to begin the defence of the Men’s title he won last year. Saturday also sees matches between Suffolk & Norfolk at Under 10 and Under 16 level at Somersham

Sunday will see regional league racing across all 4 regions. The South & South Wales League gets underway with reigning champions Poole hosting the 2017 champions Newport whilst the other match will see Horapath take on Exeter.

The North & Scotland League will see all 8 teams involved across all 3 divisions. Astley & Tyldesley will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season against Hull whilst Edinburgh will have a busy day of racing at Redbraes Park as they host Sheffield and Stockport. The Division 2 match with Sheffield opens the proceedings at 11.30am with the Division 3 match against Stockport at 1pm followed by the Division 1 match with Stockport starting at 2pm with the Division 2 match following afterwards. Also in Division 2 Bury make the trip to Scotland to face Glasgow at midday before moving on to Fife(2pm start)

There are matches in all 3 divisions of the South-East & Eastern League with Great Blakenham making the trip to Norfolk to face Hethersett in Division 1(11am start) before moving on to Eaton Park to face Norwich in Division 1 and Division 2(2pm start). Also in Division 2 Ipswich host the 2018 champions Kesgrave who will be looking to bounce back from their opening day defeat at the hands of Norwich. Ipswich will also host the Kesgrave Panthers in the Youth League

Finally the Midland League has the latest round of matches in the Gold Cup competition at East Park where Coventry take on Birmingham then Leicester take on Wednesfield
