WEEKEND PREVIEW: BYJL resumes plus regional racing

There is a busy weekend of cycle speedway action coming up and it starts with the 2nd Regional rounds of the British Youth & Junior League. The North & Scotland round takes place at Cookson Park, Sheffield whilst the Midlands youngsters will be in action at Coventry’s Hearsall Common track. Ipswich’s Whitton Sports Centre is the venue for the South East & Eastern round which also counts as Round 2 of the South-East Grand Prix Series and Horspath hosts the South & South Wales round.

Moving on to Sunday and there is regional league racing in the South-East region as well as in the North & Scotland League where Sheffield are the visitors to Astley & Tyldesley in all 3 divisions whilst Hull make the trip to Goshen Sports Centre to face Bury, also in all 3 divisions.
The South-East region also has matches in Division 1, Division 2 and the Youth League. Hellingly get their league campaign underway with a visit from Hethersett in Division 2 and the Youth League. Kesgrave & Norwich will have action in all 3 divisions with Ipswich the visitors to Kesgrave where there will be 4 matches due to Kesgrave having 2 teams in the Youth League. Meanwhile Great Blakenham make the trip to Eaton Park to face Norwich. The action at Kesgeave & Norwich starts at 1pm with Hellingly getting underway at 2pm.
In the Midlands it is the latest round of the Grand Prix series which is open to any rider from any region. East Park is the venue for this.
The latest round of the Scottish League also takes place on Sunday but at Fife and not Edinburgh as originally scheduled. The action at the ExxonMobil Fastbowl. gets underway at 1.30pm
