MATCH REPORT: Hull through to Exeter finals day

After heavy thunder storms and hail Swindon’s quarter final match of the British Team Championships at the Oasis Leisure centre against Hull got underway shortly after 2pm.
Hull’s team included the double British champion Andy Angell and Adam Stephenson, which made them the team to beat.

The first half was marred but a few silly mistakes which ment that Hull were 9 up at the halfway point.

The second half was the opposite where Swindon concentrated on getting points on the board which was a plan that worked, as going into the last race Swindon were 4 behind and maximum points would force a race-off.

However, on the unfancied outside gates, and a certain Andy Angell on grid 1, try as they may the pairing of Steve Harris and Rob Hunt couldn’t find a way past.

A close and exciting meeting which was controlled well by the referee.

Swindon CSC would like to wish the injured Hull rider, Craig Boddice, all the best for his hand injury (possible broken hand) and Hull CSC all the best on finals day at Exeter.
