HOME INTERNATIONAL: England Senior team announced

England Senior team manager Wayne Aris has names his team for this years Home International at Newport on Saturday June 3rd. The team is listed below with write-ups by Wayne:

Chris Timms

Chris had been a regular in the England team over the past few years and always scores well and has now established himself as one of the top riders in the country and I find it hard not to pick him for what I see will be a hard match for us to defend the Home International title. Chris will also captain the side this year.

Zac Payne

Zac is another rider that I find myself turning to when picking the England team as I find he is a rider that brings a lot to the team. Zac has found himself a new challenge this year by moving to Kesgrave and has been in top form for his new club and I’m sure he will bring that form to the England team.

Josh Brooke

Josh was part of the National side that won the European title last year and has been in excellent form for his Great Blakenham club for the early part of this season. Now established as one of the top riders in the country it was an easy decision to include Josh for this years team.

Ben Clarke

Ben was a top junior rider for some time but is making a name for himself amongst the riders at senior level now and has now earned himself his 2nd Home International cap. One of the top riders at Ipswich he is a rider that has a great future in the sport and will for sure be a big part of the G.B and England teams in the future.

Aaron Smith

Aaron is a rider I tried to get in a England shirt for last years Home International but with other commitments he was unable to. But to have him in the side this year is a benefit to me and the National side. He has established himself as Poole’s No1 rider and I think he has all the qualities to become a future British Champion.
