CLUB NEWS: Over 40 members celebrate Hawks successes
Hethersett Hawks/Myhill Decorators celebrated another successful season when over 40 members and guests attended their Presentation Night at Hethersett Social Club. As well as honouring all of the Club’s own champions there was also recognition for the Club’s three Norfolk Champions – George Larter, Owen Wells and Katie Adams.
Next to receive awards were 11 of the B team who finished runners-up in the South East & Eastern League Division 2. missing the top prize on points difference over two matches with Ipswich.
Harley Hamill stepped up to receive the first-team top scorer award and was up again later to receive a new Coach’s Award from Kevin Wells. Club awards were made to Danny Machin (Best Newcomer), Paul Delaiche (Most Improved Junior) and Chloe Woods (Club Member of the Year).
Team Managers stepped up to the microphone to make their own awards – Dan Chambers presented Dan Butler with the 1st Team Rider of the Year and Harley Hamill handed over the B team Rider of the Year award to Glyn Morgan.
Finally Chairman John Nelson announce the result of the vote taken on the night for Hawks Sportsperson of the Year which went to Club Secretary / Treasurer Mel Perkins.
The Club’s second winter GO-RIDE session will take place at the Memorial Playing Field this Sunday. It starts at 11 a.m. so book in by 10.45 – all comers welcome with prizes for the Under-10, Under-13 and Under-16 categories and it costs only £1.
