NEWS: Wingz disability inclusion training

Cycle Speedway Commission Chair Mike Hack has sent the following regarding upcoming courses regarding Wingz Disability Inclusion:

“I hope that you have all seen and enjoyed the mentions of cycle speedway in the #Everyone Wins video, on British Cycling’s homepage today, along with the issue of the Cycle Speedway Discipline Specific Development Plan.

“Included in the Plan is ways to recruit and retain members. To aid cycle speedway clubs and volunteer officials with this, are courses run by Wingz Disability Inclusion Training.

“Forthcoming courses are:

Tuesday 8th June 2021 from 18:30-20:30pm. https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZAtfuGsrTouGtZfQT7HfiOfR0NO2Ed0RHLj

Monday 21st June 2021 from 18:30 – 20:30pm. https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZEtd-6opzgjGtaJgBz99-JHRtFaCjX7dPPR

“The training is open to any coaches, helpers, parents etc and helps develop a capacity for clubs to be more inclusive, offering something that is as open to as many people as possible. The fee for this training is £25 per head and the training is endorsed by YMCA. However as a gesture of good will Access Sport will be happy to cover this cost for anyone interested in attending.

“Myself and Phil Clarke, from the Cycle Speedway Commission, along with other Cycle Speedway officials and volunteers attended the first training course last month. I recommend this course to all cycle speedway officials and volunteers as a useful way to develop your clubs, so I urge you to sign up for a course on either of the dates available.”
