MATCH REPORT: Hull v Bury

Bury arrived at a sunny and dry Hessle Raceway with a strong side that justified their favourites tag for the league title. Hull again fielded a very young side with Jack Lister and Lewis Foxley interrupting a strong first half display from the Comets which saw them leading by 48 points to 31 at the interval. Hull held on early in the second half with three drawn heats and the racing was always exciting despite the score line. Heat 16 provided a rare heat win for the home side with Jack and Lewis teaming up for a 7-3 in the first nominated race but Bury’s all-round strength shoe through for a convincing 106 points to 72 victory.

Jack Lister was on top form for the home side with good support from Lewis Foxley despite suffering from the hot weather. Will Owens and Kris Ramsden were only beaten once, by Jack, while Harry Radford was unlucky with a fall and a shipped chain in a strong Bury display.

Bury’s only race win came from Tom Dunphy and George Keeble in heat 10 but Hull pressed on for a 84 points to 58 win.
