MATCH REPORT: M6 Trophy suffers disappointing turn out
Birmingham hosted round 2 of the M6 trophy on Saturday, with a hugely disappointing turn out.
Only one non-Birmingham rider turned up for the event, with 6 adults and 6 U14’s. This meant a formula with all abilities was thrown together.
The Senior final was won by Scott Millward with Mark Winwood 2nd, Nathan Groves 3rd and Steve Hodgkinson 4th.
The B Final/Junior final was won by Josh Hill, with Ryan Winwood 2nd, William Arkinstall 3rd and Marc Phipps 4th.
For the 2nd round running, only Birmingham and East Park riders have entered, so it must bring into question why a competition intended to give riders the extra meetings they wanted and a change of race day due to mid week not being suitable can continue much longer.
There are still two rounds to run at Coventry and Wednesfield.
Surely the Midlands Committee will be taking a long and hard look at this competition in its current guise, as to why it’s not being supported by more riders and club representation?
